ABOUT
The Middle Floor is an inclusive, not for profit art and movement creation and events space run by Excessive Human Collective. The space is located in Leeds City Centre and is used for residencies, classes, workshops, exhibitions, meetings, sharing's, talks and co-working. We believe in the transformative power of art and movement and our aim is to support the artistic community in Leeds and let this influence our community practice.

WHAT ARE THE SPACE SPECIFICATIONS?
We have two spaces available to hire, one large, open plan room roughly 50m2 with wooden floor and plenty of natural light and one smaller room perfect for intimate business meetings.
The large room:
Roughtly 180 people standing capacity.
Seating for up to 100 people.
Option to have a dance floor put down.
The smaller room:
Use of folding tables and chairs.
Space for up to 15 people seated comfortably.
Both Spaces have:
Projector and small PA sound system for use (free of charge)
6 large folding tables for use
2 toilets (neither of which are currently wheelchair accessible)
Unfortunately the space is not yet wheelchair accessible but this is something we are seeking to address as soon as possible.
We have a very basic kitchen set up and we can provide a kettle, tea urn or coffee machine and mugs.
We can negotiate the supply of a basic drinks bar with ample notice.
HOW MUCH DOES THE SPACE COST?
We have lots of different rates for the space depending on what you are intending on using it for. For example, whether or not you are a charity, if you are planning on charging for tickets, if you want it for an hour a week or a year. The best thing to do is to send us an email to with your proposal and we will get back to you.
Please include the following:
A brief description of the event
Entry fee to event
If it is a public or private event
Information about your organisation, if applicable
Technical needs: PA, projector, tables, chairs etc.
How long and what dates you need the space, including set up and take down time
CAN I COME AND VIEW THE SPACE?
If you’d like to come and view the space you’re welcome to do so from 5pm Mon-Friday and from 3pm Sat-Sunday. Let us know when you're thinking of coming by emailing and we can let staff know to expect you.
